Phil Torrone (Senior Editor @ MAKE) and I work on many projects together and many parts of the Adafruit business – you may have noticed some new things going on here at Adafruit with Phil’s fingerprints on them. Phil will also be guest posting on the adafruit blog, his posts will either be from him as “pt” or as “adafruit” our shared publishing account here, say hi!
Adafruit publishes a wide range of writing and video content, including interviews and reporting on the maker market and the wider technology world. Our standards page is intended as a guide to best practices that Adafruit uses, as well as an outline of the ethical standards Adafruit aspires to. While Adafruit is not an independent journalistic institution, Adafruit strives to be a fair, informative, and positive voice within the community – check it out here: adafruit.com/editorialstandards
Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.

Phil is one of those awesome people you sometimes come across in life. Great to see you guys working together on stuff : ).
Although I can’t say I met Phil, judging from his posts on Make blog I think he is a great guy. Good luck with your projects.
i’m glad phil can find a place to work on his makecation!
when are we going to be able to get those cool merit badges?
@frenzy – the toolkits are back in stock (well, will be in about an hour or so and that means the merit badges are in stock too).
Am I missing the badges in the store? I don’t see them…
We miss PT around the ol’ virtual office, but we’re excited by the stuff he’s doing at Adafruit.
What a dynamic duo, like Pinky and the Brain, only…er… Brain and Brain. Look out world!
And yeah, I want my Geek Merit Badges.

@frenzy – if you have the tools already – yes, we’ll have a way for you to get them, just give us some time to get it all going 🙂
Who is the smiling person and what have you done with the real Limor?
And hi, Phil!
I’d be careful of the dangerous-looking one on the left! 😉 I think Phil’s in trouble now!
Best wishes!
