I am inclined to support Open Source ideas and business-models as they help least-developed communities in their development. During a recent visit to a small town in rural India, I saw teachers use info from “Lady ADA” (http://www.ladyada.net/) as inspiration for simple projects to teach electricity and electronics to school children.
