  1. Cool. Thanks!

  2. Nice! first you develop weapons and now you want to ship them for free to military bases… OK!

  3. Great, thanks very much adafruit !!

@xchip you’re kidding right? adafruit is offering to help our troups obtain cool stuff cheaper, for their own enjoyment and learning. Times are tough but I think the military can pay for weapon shipping.

  4. xchip, we didn’t develop any weapons. we showed you how to build a weapon that was ALREADY developed by the military. Don’t you think its better when everyone has access to this technology, not just the government? Also, its a better rave light than a weapon 😀

  5. Hey,

Speaking as a veteran, thank you for helping my still-active service members serving abroad learn and experiment with electronics.

    To Xchip,

I’ve known Ladyada since the late 1990s when she used to hang out with us at the l0pht. She does not develop weapons. Take a look at some of her other works before you mouth off.

  6. I’m not in the service, but thank you! Very classy move. This makes me feel a little bit every time I pull out the Visa here…

  7. Very thoughtful, thank you!

  8. quoting ladyada,

    > we showed you how to build a weapon that was ALREADY developed by the military

What a coincidence that you showed how to build a military weapon cheaper and then you announce free shipping to military bases…

  9. xchip, its pretty much coincidence. once the bedazzler video was done, i finally had time to get thru all the ‘to do’ items in the website design file. one of those was fixing up shipping bugs to PR (and other US territories) and bases.

  10. NO, XCHIP IS RIGHT. IT’S ALL A VAST CONSPIRACY FOR LADYADA TO DEVELOP A NOT-VERY-EFFECTIVE KIT VERSION OF A NON-LETHAL MILITARY WEAPON, AND THEN SHIP IT TO MILITARY BASES FOR FREE. ADAFRUIT MUST BE IN BED WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND THIS PROVES IT!!!

    are you fucking serious, xchip
a correlation between 2 things does not automatically denote foul play and there is pretty much no foul play possible here.

  11. luno, you never know…there might be some kickin’ base nightclubs that need portable multicolored lights.
