One of my electronic project. Custom build alarm clock. Two 4×20 VDF Display hooked on a PIC 18F8420 demo board. Added a keypad for easy setup. Entering data is better with lots of keys. One electronic project that i’m not too ashamed of showing. If you want more info on this, feel free to ask. Schematics and code is available.
Very cool!

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.

I was considering getting one (an Ice Tube Clock), but I prefer a display similar to this one. I don’t know, I’m probably just being picky. XP I’ll definitely look into it, though.
you could always wire up a different VFD and use the ice tube to drive it. most of the ice tube is just dealing with VFD driving. then you can mod the code!
VFD.
Probably not in French…! 🙂
Sweet! I’ve always wanted a custom built alarm clock, actually. Maybe I should try building one similar to this one. Thanks for posting!
alex, you could def take a ice tube clock and mod it. lots of hackers on the forum have made changes
