Our machine shipped with loose homing blocks so we needed to recalibrate the machine from scratch, it’s a little scary but we’re glad we know how to do this now – it’s working perfectly. Here are some videos and some photos of our machine actually picking up parts of the reel and placing them on a circuit board, woo!

  1. That. Is. So. COOL!

    p.s. good lighting, btw. 🙂

  2. Sweet! Playing with one in Tokyo last week really convinced me to take the plunge … manually assembling ~10 SMT boards is doable, but it becomes very cost-uneffective after that point, especially if or if you have more than 25 or so components.

It was sickening to watch how quickly this thing can finish a board at full speed compared to what it takes me by hand. 🙂

So, does it actually solder or attach the SMDs in any way or do they just sit there waiting for the solder?

  4. Dudes. So. Awesome.
