Translation / image needed “HELP I’M TRAPPED IN AN APPLE FACTORY”

Pt 2709
We have a friend who wants to etch “HELP I’M TRAPPED IN AN APPLE FACTORY” in Chinese on their Macbook pro, if anyone could translate this and post an image somewhere we’d appreciate it – Here’s what google says… does this look pretty close?

  1. EPIC. Such a great idea!

  2. I don’t know any Chinese, but you will get a better translation if you don’t use ALLCAPS.

I tried translating your text and both “I’M” and “APPLE FACTORY” gets mistranslated into Danish, so there’s a good chance that it doesn’t get parsed correctly.

This text got me the correct Danish translation:
HELP I’m trapped in an Apple factory

  3. That’s a terrible translation by Google. 🙂

You can’t quite put across the all-capitals lack-of-punctuation thing in Chinese. You could just miss out the punctuation, but it might be confusing. Given that, my best version is: 救救我! 我被困在苹果代工厂!
    (jiu4 jiu4 wo3! wo3 bei4 kun4 zai4 ping2 guo3 dai4 gong1 chang3!)
(Literally: Save me! Me trapped in Apple factory!)

I checked it over with a native speaker, and it works for him. 🙂

  4. The result of google translation for this sentence is not exact, here is my translation: 救救我,我正身陷苹果工厂。

  5. There’s a quick trick in cases like this to see how accurate is your translation: just try to re-translate it into english, and see what happens. In this case, Google says: “Help I’m trapped take an apple plant” (http://translate.google.com/#auto|en|%E5%B8%AE%E5%8A%A9%E6%88%91%E6%98%AF%E5%9B%B0%E5%9D%90%E4%B8%80%E4%B8%AA%E8%8B%B9%E6%9E%9C%E5%8E%82)

  6. Joss’s translation seems good. Here is another translation: 救救我!我正身陷苹果血汗工厂!(Note that 血汗工厂 = SWEATSHOP)

  7. My stopmom (she’s Chinese, I trust her translation =p) says this:

    http://alina.whtiger.net/~josh/images/helpme.png

  8. My father in law suggests:

    救救我!我正身陷苹果工厂里!

  9. Chinese traditiona(HK, Macau and Taiwan):
    救命呀, 我被困在Apple的工廠

    Chinese simplified (Mainland):
    救命呀, 我被困在Apple的工厂

  10. another (from our pal becky)…

    Chinese traditiona(HK, Macau and Taiwan):
    救命呀, 我被困在Apple的工廠

    Chinese simplified (Mainland):
    救命呀, 我被困在Apple的工厂

  11. 救命,我正身陷苹果工厂!

  12. The English version is on the bottom of Slashdot today.
