Cat + electrophorus

Jeri and Darlington play with electrophorus…

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.

Thank you for the cats and the gals that put a charge into science!

We live in a truly amazing time. I remember reading one of those “First Book of Electricity for Boys” type books that described building an Electrophorus.

It was somewhat complicated. You had to get a pie pan, pour a layer of petroleum pitch into it, find a hunk of plate glass, cover it with tin foil and figure out how to attach a wood dowel handle and then get yourself some woolen cloth.

And Jeri builds one with a chunk of styrene box filler, a dob of hot glue, a pill bottle and a hard drive platter. And then charges it up with a cat. Love it!
