Use the 3V out when running 3.3V logic, replaces 2 AA’s
4.5V will drive most 5V electronics just fine, or replace 3 AA’s
6V replaces 4 AA’s, with a 1n4001 in series it will give you a bit over 5V out
7.5V goes into most linear regulators with minimal dropout
9V as well, and also replaces a 9V battery
12V will drive many small DC motors and steppers.

For those of you who aren’t aware, 1000mA = 1 Amp. I point this out due to the fact that there seems to be a frequent attempt here to quote large numbers without simplifying the units. Just take a look at the lipo batteries for further examples.
