PART FINDER FRIDAY – Antistatic foam

Pt 10785

That’s right gang, it’s PART FINDER FRIDAY! This week, Antistatic foam! If you want to ship chips around without them getting all bent out of shape, you’ll want a few sheets of this foam. You can cut it easily and sink delicate parts in that will provide ESD and mechanical protection. We like the 3/8″ for most usage, but sometimes for long leads 1/2″ is better.

I have found that all ugly things are made by those who strive to make something beautiful, and that all beautiful things are made by those who strive to make something useful -Oscar Wilde

The part finder, finding useful beauty one part at a time.

  1. Is this useful for covering a workbench? Or is there a better matte material somewhere for that?

  2. This is mostly for shipping chips around. If you want something for the top of a workbench, you’re probably thinking of an ESD mat.
