Flying remote controlled fish – Air swimmers, good for hacking!

Flying remote controlled fish – Air swimmers! We can’t wait to see what the DIY Drones folks do with these!

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.

  1. This is so much like the flying penguin in William Gibson’s Zero History, it’s scary.

  2. @Johngineer:

That’s because Gibson was, in fact, inspired by the Festo Bionic Network, and directly referenced the Air Penguin in his book.

  3. One of the things I find most impressive about these is that the retail price is $40. It would be so easy for them to charge a lot more the way toys are priced.

  4. Johngineer, the items in the second video are the direct inspiration for the penguin and the manta ray in Zero History. Gibson has spoken and written about it.

  5. Thanks for the info guys!

  6. My favorite is still the Air Fish. http://vimeo.com/1968128
