Khan’s idea of having students learn the theory out of class and the doing in class is great, but it’s not new. Art schools call this “studio class” and have been doing it forever. I was always surprised in college when chem/physics lab sessions were run by the grad students. That was like studio class, but without the benefit of the professor’s experience.
