Engineering Classes: Hopes vs. Reality

So true. Click on the image for the longer, full-sized version.

If you happen to know who created this (I have no idea), please post it in the comments so that I can give them due recognition.

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.

  1. Yes! Exactly what happened during 4 years of mechanical engineering studies.

Incidentally, in many cases you can use Reality to achieve the Hopes, which I guess is exactly what engineering is about.

  2. Looks like it was made by user erdero for reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/gtysc/not_trying_to_discourage_anyone_but/

  3. Is it weird that I like the graphs just as much as the pretty pictures?

  4. Once you get to grad school, it gets a lot more awesome.
