SOFTWARE SUNDAY! A new series of posts from us – Software (& Software as a Service) for business and manufacturing – our tips and tricks – Faxing Services. This is what we use to send and receive faxes. Faxing services are some of the oldest companies on the Internet (we remember seeing ads for them on usenet before the www existed). The idea is a company somewhere with a huge PBX handles all the receving and sending. All you have to do is give your newly assigned fax number to customers and whatever they send will be automatically scanned, turned into a PDF/image and emailed to you. Likewise, to send a fax just email a PDF or set of images to a special email address (it has to come from you) and it will be faxed. Not all services are the same. Some things we suggest watching for… READ MORE!

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.

Oh man, that comic is so true (click the "READ MORE!" link if you don’t know what I’m talking about).
My story is worse, in a way; I was email’d a MS-Word file by my company’s HR department, with instructions to fill it in, print it out, and FAX it to them. Thinking perhaps that this was an ancient document that hadn’t been updated to _this millennia_, I called them to ask if I couldn’t just, oh I dunno, hit REPLY.
I got a obviously irritated gent who told me IN LOUD TONES because I was obviously an idiot to FILL IT IN, PRINT IT OUT, and FAX IT IN. Oh. Okay then.
