Haters Gonna Hate

Ok, this has little to do with electronics specifically, but it has everything to do with sharing your work. Take it to heart, and remember: nobody knows your situation or your resources better than you, and nobody understands your choices better than you, either.

Don’t let the bums get you down! 🙂

Adafruit has had paid day off for voting for our team for years, if you need help getting that going for your organization, let us know – we can share how and why we did this as well as the good results. Here are some resources for voting by mail, voting in person, and some NY resources for our NY based teams as well. If there are additional resources to add, please let us know – adafruit.com/vote

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.

  1. Thanks for the insight. 🙂

  2. @EdAlG: It’s definitely a message that bears repeating. 🙂

  3. That’s just *so* stupid.

    /me ducks and runs…

  4. Awesome advice. Words to live by. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  5. Its true tho, and when you are wanting to upset an industry etc the hate will be even greater. OSH and OSS scares many so they will hate and say you cant, when you probably can and be better.

  6. I have a little saying I like… “You’re an expert in your own experience” because really, who else knows more than you do about the things you’ve done.

  7. Yes very good advice, and it’s one way of keeping your cool.

I like to constantly remind myself I need to accept that life is not going to be completely under my control. There are many random bumps and turns along the way and it’s up to me to steer through the obstacles as best I can.

The worst thing you can do is hop in the back seat when life throws a rough road at you 😉
