Panelizing PCB & Assembly: prepping the boards

Pt 101092

Panelizing PCB & Assembly: prepping the boards… If you want to send out PCBs for manufacture you can save a lot of money by tiling them, here’s a nice walkthru of using the open source gerbmerge tool to tile your PCBs..

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.

  1. Guess this means I should write up the remaining parts of the process eh? There’s lots of fun & games going on with parts placement that I need to cover. http://blog.omegacs.net/2011/06/07/fully-assembled-anyseistm-boards/ has pics of the assembled boards back from Screaming Circuits.

Thanks to this walkthrough I now see a lot of wasted star-shaped breakout boards between the actual boards. 😉

    Awesome!

  3. Heh, the “ninja stars”. I just realized though that Screaming Circuits tossed those out when they depanelized after assembly. Too bad, I had people from DorkbotPDX asking to keep some….
