Canadian customers, USPS service is suspended because of strike

Canada-Post-Strike-Update-300X225

Canadian customers, USPS service is suspended because of strike.

Due to the expectation by Canada Post officials that the strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers will last until at least sometime next week, the U.S. Postal Service will suspend accepting mail destined to Canada — effective Saturday, June 18, 2011, 11:59 p.m. CDT…

“As a convenience to our customers and to minimize service disruptions, we arranged to accept mail destined for Canada as long as possible,” said Giselle Valera, vice president, Global Business. “We will continue to closely monitor the strike situation, and once Canada Post resumes operations, the U.S. Postal Service will again begin accepting mail for Canada. We also will then resume processing any Canadian-destined mail currently held in our network.”

  1. Hi

    it a lock-out not a strike …

staf have done 12 hour sector by sector strike ,so if your unlucky your got 12 hour delay on delivery

3-4 day later canadapost have make good price reduction for it customer ,since it have got volume drop

1 day after the special price it make a lock-out whit every stuff lock on office ,so small company that rely on postal service have material and money stuck until gov make special law …

i personally send many thing to my customer whit guaranteed next AM delivery , so guess what need to send back on fedex

    Best regard

  2. Yeah, it really is a bummer. I was downtown here in Trois-Rivieres (Quebec) this morning, and postal workers were all over the place by the post office. They are focused getting health and safety concerns, sick leave, different wages, and different pensions, apparently, so I hope they can get a sweet agreement and get back to work.
