People of this generation are 120% more likely to be business owners without previous workplace experience, according to the Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute. And 21% of 1,000 college students and recent grads in a Young Entrepreneur Council survey started businesses as a result of unemployment.
For these guys and gals, getting a good job has not been easy. In fact, unemployment for adults under 30 is 13.2%. Boomers aren’t retiring and freeing up jobs. And frankly, making the corporate climb, at a time when layoffs loom, doesn’t seem worthwhile.
