Halloween season is here! Check out all the posts, gift guides, and more!
Adafruit publishes a wide range of writing and video content, including interviews and reporting on the maker market and the wider technology world. Our standards page is intended as a guide to best practices that Adafruit uses, as well as an outline of the ethical standards Adafruit aspires to. While Adafruit is not an independent journalistic institution, Adafruit strives to be a fair, informative, and positive voice within the community – check it out here: adafruit.com/editorialstandards
Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I just modded an N64 to have a ultra bright blue power light and got the LED from Radioshack because I’m tired of Mouser/Digikey’s shipping fees and order quantities that make you order at least 25 of something to make it worth it. One of the commenters on that link said free-to-store shipping, and thats the way to go. Wal-Mart and Best Buy offer it.
If they can lower the price enough, not enough of course to undercut the big guys, but enough so it doesn’t kill me to buy two LED’s or some perf board, then I’ll shop with them way more often.
They need better tools too, like REAL irons and good solder, like Hakko FX-888 and thin 26swg Multicore brand solder (in 60/40 and other types). They sell DMM’s that could be better, like the Extech EX330, whatever they have there I wouldn’t trust.
I don’t need smarter sales staff as they’re kids who joke around and sell cellphones to old/clueless people. I know what I want and can find it just fine TYVM. If they stock parts in small quantities so I can experiment it’s a quick and relatively painless way to experiment.
