Bell Labs Song

Bryce writes

Yossi Vardi played this video as part of a session he contributed to at Sci Foo Camp today. If you’re able to look past the cheesy music, you’ll see the story of innovation in America unfolding. Scientific breakthrough after scientific breakthrough that laid the foundation for our homespun innovation economy we all participate in today.

There are two ways to interpret this video. Either we stand on the shoulders of these giants and continue our tradition of innovation OR we hand the baton to a different generation rising on other soil more fertile for innovation than our own.

With no further comment on the matter Yossi simply pointed out that Bell Labs is now owned by a French company.

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.

  1. remember that tv commercial where bell labs was typing up its resume, talking about the amazing things it had invented.

concise and understated about the most incredible advances… that ad gave me chills 😀
