UPDATE: ARRIVED – The open-source hardware badges might not make it to the summit

Pt 101604
We usually only have great experiences with UPS, but today they let us down. We have 450 badges going to the open hardware summit and UPS says they’re stuck because of bad weather. It’s sunny and amazing out in NYC, we think they lost them 🙁 This is the first overnight package we can recall that went this wrong. It was only traveling a few miles from NYC to Brooklyn too.

The package arrived today (Weds.) the badges may still make it in to the goodie bags!

  1. Hoo, boy, sometimes that happens. Reminds me back in the day when we tried using Airborne Express. We sent an expensive package to a place down in Louisiana out on the Mississippi river delta. Customer called wanting to know where the package was. We initialized a trace and got back word that not only could they not find the package, but the truck and the driver were missing as well. I had dreams of some poor guy floating down a backwater in his delivery truck warily eying the alligators as he headed out to sea.

  2. couple more days still…

are you going to “release” the embroidery files for those 😉

I have a good friend who has a shop, I showed him the famous pic of the lilypad and he thought it was cool.

  3. @jkCBWPnet – yes, everything will be on github. our previous vendor would not give us any files for the soldering badge.
