  2. However upgrading to iOS 5 doesn’t seem to make the 3GS any more consistent with MintyBoost.

    And in case anyone is keeping score: running iOS 5 seems much MUCH quicker to consume battery than when I was running iOS 4 on the same device.

  3. @gonewest – the iphone 3gs has some physical hardware issues – http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2011/07/25/iphone-3gs-fix-charging-is-not-supported-with-this-accessory%c2%a0/

    on a related note, if you check the apple forums there seems to be some battery issues with iOS5 in general too – lots of people are saying the battery life is less with iOS5 due to all the location based services and net polling with icloud.

    our 4s was going down 10% per hour with siri when we had a location based reminder on.
