As winter draws near, you may be trying to use your phone outside in the cold more often, perhaps frustrated it does not register your touch. Don’t use your nose to unlock your phone and answer calls, make a pair of iPhone gloves! This is the topic of today’s episode of Becky’s Workshop

Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.

  1. Cool! I needed this on my gloves yesterday! Where can I get the conductive thread? Thanks!

  2. Very nice. Is there any risk that the metal thread will scratch the screen?

  3. the thread is pretty soft – stephen, we’ll have something in the store soon – we didn’t like any of the thread out there for the most part so we have something really nice coming in.
