NEW PRODUCT – Hakko Brass Sponge Solder Tip Cleaner
NEW PRODUCT – Hakko Brass Sponge Solder Tip Cleaner. This brass sponge is super glam and super useful. Preferred by many soldering pros for cleaning off the tips of their soldering irons, it never needs wetting, wont cool down the tip, and its slightly abrasive to remove caked-on flux.
This model is made by Hakko so you know it’s not only good-looking but a pleasure to use.

I have one, have had for years, and can vouch for it: I don’t even use the wet sponge anymore… the sponge that came with my FX-888 is still sitting dry in the FX-888’s box, unused… Oh, and they last MUCH longer than any sponge ever did… when I bought it, I got a refill to go with the holder; but the refill is still unused in the bag because the original is still going strong.
To agree with the comment above, this is one of the best soldering things I have ever purchased. I also had purchased an extra sponge replacement that is still in the unopened plastic bag. Wet sponge? I have not touched one after buying a brass sponge. I have 2 599B’s (1 used in production) and they really are awesome. Another great product choice by Adafruit. 🙂

Two thumbs up!
