NEW PRODUCT! Magnetic Pin Back – These magnetic pin backs have two pieces: a metal bar with adhesive strip and a plastic piece with two strong rare-earth magnets.
Affix the metal bar to your FLORA projects– it’s just the right size! Then attach your FLORA project to any garment without poking holes in your clothes. The magnets are strong enough to hold up even a hefty circuit!
Have an amazing project to share? The Electronics Show and Tell is every Wednesday at 7:30pm ET! To join, head over to YouTube and check out the show’s live chat and our Discord!

Ok, so why haven’t you made a flora sized/shaped connector – that is magnetic, where the magnets make the connection and work as your breakout (screw terminals anyone, some sort of strain relief anyone) – along with a compatible “ring” (or 2 arch shaped pieces, or individual parts, whatever) They would be made with steel/iron/solderable, magnetic material that you would solder to the flora itself.
Of course, the magnets could be on the flora, and the magnetic metal could be on a piece that would go on the garment. Or they could both be magnetic – maybe making it so it could go on only one way. Whatever, R&D it up figure out what works.
Now you have a removable flora, that is easy to attach / remove. That has a “base” that could be sown to the clothing like a giant button. Maybe have a back plate that you would sew through for better stability. That could include strain reliefs. Or better attachments for conductive thread.
Do this with the LED’s too. hmm. I like this idea. Kinda like that Microsoft surface keyboard and power plug.
