The Flora PCB has plenty of room to fit M1.6 machine screws, the pixels needed a little encouragement but were functioning fine. (I meant to get some smaller screws but the local market had already closed for New Years Eve!)

  1. I still think magnetic connectors are the future of the FLORA. Those connectors would allow for everything to be easily removed for washing. You would attach the conductive thread to the magnetic “garment” end of things, which would be sewn to the garment. The FLORA would interface with this magnetically, and make the physical and electrical connection through the magnets. Apple and Microsoft are doing magnetic connectors. Why? because they hold up to more abuse. The FLORA – being wearable needs to be able to hold up to abuse – so I say it is time for magnetic connectors to be developed specifically for the FLORA, and for them to be made available.
