I’m the developer of a (free) piece of software for designing graphics, fonts and animations for LED dot matrix devices.
It currently supports several different formats and types, new features are being added all the time. I’m working (literally as I am testing now) on bicolour functionality. I am using the Adafruit 8×8 bicolour matrix for testing, the software can now export data in its format (although of course it will support many other devices that use the same format). I will also be including some arduino samples where necessary.
I hope it can be of some use to your users, and hopefully with feedback it become even better and support even more devices.
