Using CT scan to capture the form of the shell of different hermit crabs and turtles, artist Aki Inomata painstakingly crafted miniature skyscapes and homes to sit atop the animal’s exoskeletons. The animals can exchange shells, and thus cityscapes, paralleling how humans now change landscapes so easily, becoming as transient in their homes as hermit crabs. via designboom.
