Pixel art of landscapes often goes by pixel scenery, pixel scenes, and similar names that I include in tags. Pixel art is also typically broken down into isometric and non-isometric. If you’re specifically interested in the kind of pixel art Mark Ferrari creates (those are some of the most popular pixel scenes floating around right now), you should read up on color cycling with HTML5. I’d love to see more art like that.
