Now, like it or not, we’re all ersatz celebrities tagged in Facebook photos or acting as unwitting background models in Google’s Street View. Ying Gao, a fashion designer and professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal has created a collection of conceptual outfits called Playtime that employ technology to help the reticent retain a small measure of solitude in this surveillance-filled world.
