I had a lovely chat with Chris from Let’s Make Robots at Maker Faire. He’s showing off his Tadpole robot kit (Rocket Brand Studios) and his incredible “500 hour” aluminum robot he custom milled with a homemade CNC mill. His TIG welds are beautiful– he certainly earned his robotics skill badge! Bonus points for the knitted QR code.
Adafruit is covering World Maker Faire New York 2013, September 21 and 22 at the New York Hall of Science! This two-day family-friendly festival celebrating making of all kinds returns to NYC for its fourth year. We’d love to see what fun you’re up to onsite– share your pictures with us on Twitter and Google+ community.
Make a robot friend with Adafruit’s CRICKIT – A Creative Robotics & Interactive Construction Kit. It’s an add-on to our popular Circuit Playground Express, FEATHER and other platforms to make and program robots with CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. Start controlling motors, servos, solenoids. You also get signal pins, capacitive touch sensors, a NeoPixel driver and amplified speaker output. It complements & extends your boards so you can still use all the goodies on the microcontroller, now you have a robotics playground as well.
