The LED Artist A12 – RGB LED Wearable – Akimitsu “The LED Artist” Sadoi is a local New York artist who designs and makes beautiful LED art. We’re excited to carry his lovely new wearable designs. The A12 is a wearable ring, a little less than 2″ diameter, that has 12 RGB LEDs that animate and sparkle. Comes fully assembled and with a non-rechargeable CR2450 coin cell.
- 12 full-color LEDs produce beautiful colors.
- Comes with a non-rechargeable battery (CR2450, easily replaceable).
- Battery will typically last about 5 hours continuously.
- Also comes with black cord (lanyard) to hang around your neck.
- 10 beautiful animation patterns pre-programmed.
- Demo mode automatically runs though all animation patterns – changes every minute. (Activated by holding the button at the startup.)
- Rechargeable battery (LIR2450) is also available as an option. This recommended option lights the LEDs brighter, as it has higher voltage.

Lithium Ion Coin Cell Charger – This is a special-purpose charger just for the rechargeable LIR2450 Lithium Ion coin cells. Slide the coin cell in the right way, and plug into any USB port to recharge – so easy! Takes about 3 hours to charge up, when its done, the green DONE LED will light up to let you know.
Rechargeable coin cell is not included, but we have ’em in the shop here
Charging is performed in three stages: first a preconditioning charge, then a constant-current 45mA fast charge and finally a constant-voltage trickle charge to keep the battery topped-up.
Only for use with rechargeable LIR2450 cells! Do not try to recharge non-rechargeable Lithium coin batteries! Do not charge unattended, do not charge damaged cells.
Lithium Ion Rechargable Coin Cell Battery – LIR2450 – You can swap a coin-cell powered design that uses one-use Lithium 2450 cells for this rechargeable cell. This battery is like a little Lithium Ion battery, but in coin cell shape. It doesn’t have a huge capacity, only about 120mAh, compared to the 600mAh common to primary non-rechargeable cells.
There are a few things to watch out for when using these batteries:
- These cells do not have protection circuitry built in, so use only the charger we suggest below
- Do not over-draw from these cells – stop using and recharge once they reach 2.75V
- Check the datasheet for more information on proper use
Additional safety notes: Do not use a NiMH/NiCad/lead-acid charger! Also, do not abuse these batteries, do not short, bend, crush or puncture. As with all Lithium ion batteries and with any power source – they should be used by experts who are comfortable working with power supplies.
