We are very proud to introduce what is probably the most technically advanced yet uncomplicated birdhouse ever made. This simple object is the first of a new generation of ecology conscious products. Made from only three pieces Hūs is a small, functional birdbox created using the latest in manufacturing techniques. What began as a collaborative exploration between design consultancy Saint H and rapid prototyping bureau Digits 2 Widgets resulted in an intriguing showcase of 3D printing possibilities. Hūs is a charming, easily assembled and durable compliment to the garden space. It transcends the established sequence of design > manufacture > logistics. It allows for no material wastage, no moulding, no excess shipping, no labour violations and no unwanted surplus.

Hūs is currently on display at the Design Museum’s The Future is Here exhibition as well as the London Science Museum’s 3D:Printing the Future exhibition.
