A demonstration of recording video with 3D information using the new Kinect for Windows v2 (dev preview*). *This is based on preliminary software and/or hardware, subject to change.
The depth + color information is streamed to a custom file format. This can then be used for playback in Unity3D. The recorded video can be placed inside a virtual setting and be viewed on a regular screen, using the holographic effect of my earlier videos, or in virtual reality using the Oculus Rift. I have to say it’s a strange experience seeing yourself in virtual reality.
