Give the gift of making this Father’s Day #fathersday

NewImage

Oftentimes our fathers are the first role models we have. We look up to them, literally and figuratively, as larger than life figures, as teachers, as mentors, as superheros. That’s why it’s so important to give back on Father’s day and show your dad that you truly appreciate him. He may not be larger than life anymore, but now that you are on equal footing you have the chance to show him what all his hard work raising you has accomplished.

Here’s a few things he’ll appreciate from the Adafruit store.

Adafruit Qualia 9.7″ DisplayPort Monitor – 2048×1536 Resolution (shown above): Add a glorious 2048×1536 retina-blasting, ultra-high pixel density, IPS display to any computer with a Thunderbolt/DisplayPort port. This product comes with a new 9.7″ diagonal TFT display module (the same one used in the iPad 3 & 4), along with our custom made driver board, a stand-up monitor enclosure kit, 10′ DisplayPort cable and 9V power adapter…

Use as a main screen or even better, as a secondary monitor. Great for photo or video editing – you can use a large main monitor for frame-by-frame editing and then preview on the smaller side frame. Or keep your email or dashboard notifications on the side. Heck, web-devs will want to use it to preview what their sites will look like on a “Retina” display. The 9.7″ screen is small enough to keep out of the way. Read more.

As opposed to the Printrbot Simple Kit, all of the laser cut wood parts have been replaced by rock solid metal and assembled. In fact, the total number of parts have been reduced to just a fraction of the wooden model. The all metal construction combined with a GT2 belt pulley system produces a 3D print that rivals those of other manufacturers which cost thousands more! Read more.
