What actually happens when you plug in a USB device?.
Today I started wondering what actually happens when you plug in a USB device. The little tour below goes from starting the USB subsystem to plugging something in, and I hope it is reasonably accurate. This entry is probably best read with a copy of the Linux kernel handy.
