I think the Australian/NZ/Chinese plug is better. The holes are narrow enough that you can’t really poke anything in them, so no need for all that complex shutter business. You can have non-earthed plugs that can only be put in the right way due to the angled pins. The plugs are tiny compared to those British clunkers and must use a hell of a lot less copper. As was admitted in the video, the fuse in the plug is an artefact, and is a pain to replace and no more safe than a fuse in the fusebox. I wonder how many people electrocute themselves disassembling a plug and touching the live end of the fuse? And, as he mentioned, the British plug tends to fall with the prongs upward, which I can tell you from experience hurts like buggery if you stand on one. And they are ugly to boot. I would actually vote it the world’s worst plug design.
