Mythbusters’ Adam Savage dresses up in a costume each year at Comic-Con and walks around the exhibit hall incognito. He dressed as Admiral Ackbar in 2013, but he put a regal spin on the costume. Getting the head and hand sculpts just right for the Mon Calamari alien were key, and when Savage found a foam latex casting from the original Ackbar molds on eBay he decided to work with Frank Ippolito and a team to build the perfect Ackbar costume. As you can see in the below video, it looks pretty authentic.
