Women are famously good at doing everything at once… multi-tasking is our middle name: home, work, friends, love, life, and community – always deliciously out of balance, sometimes enriching, sometimes overwhelming. But if you want to start and grow a successful business, you need to get on a first-name basis with focus. First, to articulate a clear vision for your company. Then, to implement that vision.
Your passion and clarity about your business is its DNA. Finding the story is the starting point. Sticking to it is the road map. This year’s WE Festival introduces you to women who have built successful companies. Their reasons for starting their companies, and how their initial vision has guided their growth are stories we all need to hear.
This year WE5 focuses on four areas: retail/e-commerce, health and medical, food and hard goods. These areas are ripe for reinvention & disruption; our panelists are doing both. And you’ll learn, through their stories, about the challenges and opportunities in these booming fields.
Where can one big idea lead? For example, could a printed cotton-knit wrap dress change the way women dress and found an empire? Our keynote speaker, Diane von Furstenberg, will talk to us about that.
The goal of the WE Festival has always been to sow the seeds for a community of women entrepreneurs, to expose women who have not yet taken the entrepreneurial leap, the pre-entrepreneurs, to women who have. No one person flew the Spaceship Enterprise, it took a team. As we enter our fifth year of this festival, we know you will find not only a team of extraordinary panelists, but you will meet a whole village of women all aiming to explore the frontier.
No matter what stage your business is in – just starting, recently launched, ready to scale – this year’s Festival is designed for you. There’s nothing more important to an entrepreneur than good information, sound advice, a supportive and generous community of peers, and great conversation. We focus on nuts and bolts: what you need to know to make your business a success from people who’ve been where you are now. And we give you time and space to meet and get to know each other. We have created a unique event that is inspiring for everyone that attends from the speakers the panelists and the attendees.

Stop breadboarding and soldering – start making immediately! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is jam-packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clip pads and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in a few minutes with the drag-and-drop MakeCode programming site, learn computer science using the CS Discoveries class on code.org, jump into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode, and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, mini speaker, InfraRed receive and transmit, two buttons, a switch, 14 alligator clip pads, and lots of sensors: capacitive touch, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole wide world of electronics and coding is waiting for you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
