Maker Media, Inc. announced today that Gregg Brockway has been named CEO. Maker Media, a digital media, commerce and events company, publishes Make: magazine and digital and print books, produces the worldwide franchise of over 100 Maker Faires, and operates the Maker Shed, an online retailer of DIY electronics, kits and books. Brockway steps into the role held by Dale Dougherty, founder of Maker Media, founding publisher of Make: magazine and co-founder of Maker Faire. Maker Media was spun out of O’Reilly Media, January 1, 2013 with the support of OATV and Floodgate venture partners.
