From the forums: Project Hallowe’en tombstone featuring the Flames of Hell! #ElectronicHalloween

Thanks to alecwaters from the Adafruit forums for posting up his awesome tombstone project!

Make sure you watch at least the first 45 seconds or you’ll miss the Flames of Hell!

Ingredients:

  • 1x Arduino Uno R3
  • 1x Adafruit Music Maker shield
  • 1x Sparkfun Spectrum Shield
  • 1x Passive infrared sensor
  • 4x 8×8 LED matrices
  • 4x MAX 7219 chips to drive them
  • 1x RGB 12v LED strip
  • 3x transistors to switch the LEDs
  • Cardboard
  • Imagination

The Flames of Hell effect is a the result of the 2×7-channel spectrum analyser on the Spectrum Shield.
