2. New York With 335 companies calling NYC home, the Big Apple and its surroundings have the third-highest number of companies on the Inc. 5000, lagging just behind Texas and California. Of those companies, 69 are led by women, including Adafruit, the 11th fastest-growing, private, manufacturing business nationwide. (Incidentally, Adafruit’s CEO–Limor “Ladyada” Fried–was named one of Glamour’s 35 women under 35 who are changing the face of Tech.) What’s next for New York? It looks like it may be up to the women to decide.
