Cosplayer Hannah, aka smallfry, recently wore a Valka costume for London Expo. The character from How to Train Your Dragon 2 has a lot of different textures and layers to her costume, and Hannah used leather in many components, including the belt. She recorded a tutorial reviewing how she made the item, and it’s a great video to watch for learning tips on working with leather. She shows you how to heat leather to stretch it and how to use it to cover craft foam.
She also created a tutorial with photos that you can view at Facebook.
