For a project at school , we had to design a light fixture that uses pleated plexiglass.
In the beginning it was thought to make a coaster that lights up when the glass is empty or nearly empty, so can be used in a restaurant, cafe, … the coaster to see if anyone wants to order a drink.
For this, however, would require a non- gate in order to detect this. This I have unfortunately not enough knowledge to do this . Therefore, it was chosen to highlight the luminaire as a glass is placed on the coaster .
