Donate
Our favorite last minute gift is donating to a charity on behalf of someone else. It’s a great way spread knowledge about your favorite causes while also getting into the true holiday spirit. Here are some Adafruit favorites that are accepting donations now:
Girls Who Code – Help close the gender gap in science and technology by donating to this worthwhile cause.
TOR and EFF – We believe in digital rights and there’s no better way to defend them than donating to these civil liberty defending non-profits (or at least while you’re waiting for your Onion Pi to ship.)
Engineers Without Borders – Engineers Without Borders supports development programs worldwide on sustainable engineering projects that help build out water supply, sanitation, energy, agriculture, civil works, and information systems. This sounds pretty great to us.
Wikipedia – This one’s pretty obvious since it’s something you probably use every day (or at least we do.) But we we want Wikipedia to stay as pure and untouched by by the mechanisms of commerce as an untapped mountain stream.
Adafruit Holiday Shipping Deadlines 2014
Here are your 2014 shipping deadlines for ordering from Adafruit. Please review our shipping section if you have specific questions on how and where we ship worldwide for this holiday season.
All of the above are digital products and will be delivered to your e-mail so shipping departments don’t apply.
The Adafruit Shipping Department works hard to get your orders out as quickly as we can, but once they’re in the hands of our carriers they’re out of our control.
Carriers have been struggling to keep up with the sharp rise in online orders. Last year UPS, FedEX, and USPS all experienced delivery delays (http://tinyurl.com/ku5f4a6).
So all the Adafruit Shippers say: Please be sure you get your gifts early! Order as soon as you can! Once you place your order we’ll ship like the wind!
