Just wanted to share some feedback on two of your products: 1) the Si5351 and the Nokia 5110 Board. Below is a photo of the Nokia 5110 that is reading the frequencies coming out of the Si5351 used with a single sideband radio transceiver.
The Nokia has a real hidden treasure –the graphics capability. On the last several lines is an S Meter (bar graph display of the received signal strength) A simple input to analog pin A0 and a little math conversion lets one “see” the signal strength. The small white tick marks represent S1, S3, S5, S9 (50 uv standard) and the last 30 dB/S9. These could be highly accurate but are shown merely to represent relative signal strength (sort of like gas mileage ratings).
Thank you for bringing these products to market – you can’t imagine what a boon they are to those dabbling with home brew amateur radio equipment.
The 7200 is 7.200 MHz the 000 is the 100 Hz and the 10 is the tune increment of 10 Hz. Thus the display reads 7.200 000 MHz and the step tune rate is 10 Hz. The step tune rate is selectable in the following increments 10, 100, 1K, 10K, 100K and 1M. (The frequency part of the display + Si5351 code was done by another ham – I added the S Meter and other functions.)
Not shown but between the LSB (Lower Sideband which is the mode) and N6QW my call sign is a space when a PB is engaged that the word TUNE appears and the Arduino generates a 988 Hz tone which is used for tune up purposes. When the tone which is 50% on/off for 10 seconds is done the screen goes blank in the space. Another switch sets CLK2 to either LSB or USB and the display switches from the default LSB to USB. The USB frequency is 9001500 Hz and the LSB is 8998500 Hz. The CLK0 is variable and tunes from 16000000 Hz to 16500000 Hz. Thus the sum of CLK0 – CLK2 = the display. The CLK0 is above the incoming / outgoing operating frequency by the amount of CLK2 – Pete
