Knowing how to tie essential knots truly is an art form. Fix.com provides a handy guide for all your knot tying needs. via LifeHacker:

If the only knot you know involves tying your shoes, then this infographic provides clear, step-by-step instructions on tying some of the most useful knots out there.

The infographic, from Fix.com, covers knots that can be used for camping, boating, fishing, but these knots can be used almost anywhere. It shows you how to tie the incredibly effective bowline knot, clove hitch, square knot, blood knot, improved clinched knot, Palomar knot, sheet bend, taut line, two half hitches, fisherman’s knot, figure 8 knot, and Carrock Bend knot. It’s a great little chart to keep around for reference and it explains the best uses for each knot.
