A bandmate of mine had bought an AirTurn page turner. He showed me how cool it was to be in the middle of a gig with the lyrics in front of you and be able to stomp on a little wireless box and change the lyrics on an iPad Mini attached to the stand. I said, I’ve gotta have one. After thinking about it for a minute and knowing some of the capabilities of the Adafruit Bluefruit EZKey, I decided to grab one and make one up.
I used the ShopBot at TechShop Pittsburgh to create the housing and wired up two buttons for turning pages backwards and forwards and another two. One was for the home button, and one to switch to the on screen keyboard in iOS. Project worked out great and I use it from time to time when I don’t know all the words to a song or I’m practicing.
