It will surprise absolutely no one that I’ve found another League of Legends costume to highlight. This one is Irelia with a Nightblade skin as cosplayed by Daraya-crafts. I was struck by the massive energy sword that’s lit with an LED. In the game, the weapon can come apart and be used for a variety of attacks that make Irelia a formidable opponent.
Daraya crafted the weapon from XPS foam. The extruded foam is a rigid polystyrene. It’s more moisture-resistant than EPS foam but both materials can be used for prop-making. She sealed the prop and painted it and though the sword looked great, she ended up remaking it at a later date.
