When I see Avatar: The Last Airbender costumes, it’s usually Aang or Katara or Korra from the spinoff Legend of Korra. Given that, I’m incredibly taken with Kyuu Vixen’s take on Avatar Kyoshi. It’s just not a cosplay I come across often. Kyoshi was an Avatar from the Earth Kingdom and held the title long before Aang. She was more of a warrior than the other Avatars, and she definitely made an impression. Kyuu Vixen purchased the fabric for the costume and started working on it at the end of December. She completed her Kyoshi cosplay just a month later for Animeland Wasabi. And it’s more than just the elaborate robes. She also had to make the gloves, fans, headpiece, and wig. I’m impressed she was able to pull the beautiful ensemble together so quickly.
