The boffins at Boeing haven’t just been watching a lot of Star Wars lately, they’ve been experimenting in the lab trying to recreate some of its defense ideas. And one of those ideas has just been awarded a patent by USPTO entitled “Method and system for shockwave attenuation via electromagnetic arc.”
Boeing has basically created an energy force field which is meant to protect an object from shockwaves emanating from nearby explosions or impacts.
